In his youth he was inspired by Ramakrishna (1910 – 1886) a famous Kuchipudi artist and dancer who learnt his art from Padma Bhushan Shri Kanchi Kamala Devi. Balaji's father G. P. Padmanabha Pillai Narsingh, who was a very well known artist, taught him and inspired him to learn Kuchipudi dance and art. He learned this dance form at the age of 13 from Guru Masturi. Gurus of Kuchipudi like Guru Masturi, Mrinalini Adinarayana, and Shri V. Narasimha Rao. He has learnt this dance form from ancient masters like Shri L.T. Bhagavathy, Umayalpuram Shri Vaidyanatha Dikshitar, and Shri Sakuntala Menon. He has followed the style of Shri Kanchi Kamala Devi from great kuchipudi legends and masters like Shri Padma Subrahmanya, Shri Raghavendra Swami, Shri Kanchi Kamala Devi, Shri Kanchi Krishnamurthy, Shri Kanchi Selvaratnam, Shri Shri Ramakrishna, Shri Kanchi Annadurai. All Kuchipudi dance forms he has taught and learnt. He follows the style and also the concepts and theories of Pattabhi Jois and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. He has learnt the techniques of Bharatanatyam, and extensively practises it. He has learnt Assamese dance from Shri M. Arunwan Debinoti and has also learnt Nepali dance and Kathak from Shri Khadim Hussain Khan. He learnt Kuchipudi from Shri K. Padma Subrahmanya and Shri K.V. Subramanyam. He has learnt Kuchipudi to perfection from Shri Kanchi Kamala Devi (1969). He was working as a stage artist, music director, dance instructor, and as a conductor in the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the last four and a half decades. He is a well established dancer and Kuchipudi specialist. He is one of the first Kuchipudi dancers in India to have 1cdb36666d
